Sony eBook Reader
The Sony PRS-500 Reader is an ebook reading device popularly known as Sony eBook Reader. It uses an electronic paper display technology developed by E Ink Corporation, at a resolution of 166 dpi. It can be viewed in direct sunlight, requires no maintenance power, and can also view pictures along with text.
But like real paper, it becomes difficult to read it in low-light conditions, since it has not been provided with a backlight arrangement.
iTunes Store-like interface connects reader-customers to Sony's Connect eBook store, which can display Adobe PDFs, personal documents, blogs, RSS newsfeeds, JPEGs, and Sony's proprietary BBeB ("BroadBand eBook") format.
